Coronavirus (COVID-19) Not Yet On NCDC Directory Of Diseases

The Nigeria Center for Disease Control (NCDC) on 28 February 2020 published a press statement by the Federal Ministry of Health on the confirmation of the first case of coronavirus (COVID-19) in Lagos, Nigeria.

The index case according to the release is an Italian man who flew into the country in a Turkish Airline and later traveled to Ogun State where he started feeling some symptoms of the virus.

It’s been two (2) days now since the FMH confirmed the case of the virus in Nigeria and no other information about the coronavirus has been added on the NCDC website.

We know the NCDC will be busy with so many other things but adding a dedicated link for coronavirus on its directory of diseases will go a long way in helping Nigerians and as well as giving them confidence that the disease control body of the Nation is on top of its gear.
