The Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB) has approved the 2020 recruitment into the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS).
This information was officially made public in a statement issued by the Service Public Relations Officer, Mr Sunday James, on Friday in Abuja.
According to Mr James, the recruitment was approved by the board under its Chairman and Minister of Interior, Mr Rauf Aregbesola.
On how long the recruitment is going to last, he said it is going to be on for four (4) weeks from the date of publication.
“The recruitment is going to be on for four weeks from the date of publication. Members of the public are advised to make use of the opportunity and apply,“ he said.
He advised the public against patronising fraudulent websites, pointing out that the authentic platform for the exercise is www.immigrationrecruitment.org.ng
“The public are therefore advised to abide by the rules for the recruitment and note that it is free.
What Vacancies Are Available for Nigeria Immigration Service Recruitment 2020?

The Nigeria Immigration Service has three (3) cadres you can apply for a position. They are:
1. Superintendent Cadre
2. Inspectorate Cadre
3. Assistant Cadre

(ii) Deputy Superintendent of Immigration (DSI) – Professionals (Pharmacist) CONPASS 10

- Minimum of first degree in Pharmacy from a recognized institution of higher learning
- NYSC Discharge/Exemption certificate
(iii) Assistant Superintendent of Immigration (ASI-2) – General Duty, CONPASS 08

- NYSC Discharge certificate
B. Inspectorate Cadre
(i) Senior Inspector of Immigration (SII) Genera Duty CONPASS 08
Requirements for this Position:
- HND from a recognized institution of higher learning
- NYSC Discharge certificate
(ii) Senior Inspector of Immigration (SII) – Professionals (Nurses) CONPASS 08
Requirements for this Position:
- Applicants must be Registered Nurse, Double qualified.
(iii) Inspector of Immigration (II) – Professionals (Nurses) CONPASS 07
Requirements for this Position:
- Applicants must be Registered Nurse, Single qualified.
(iv) Assistant Inspector of Immigration (AII) – CONPASS 06
Requirements for this Position:
- NCE/ND from a recognized institution.
C. Assistant Cadre
(i) Immigration Assistant III (IA-3) – CONPASS 03 General Duty
Requirements for this Position:
- SSCE, NECO, GCE O/Level with minimum of four (4) credits in not more than 2 sittings, which should include English Language and Mathematics.
(ii) Immigration Assistant III (IA-3) – Artisans and Drivers/Mechanics
Requirements for this Position:
- Ordinary Level SSCE or its equivalents and appropriate Trade Test certificates.
Statutory Requirements for Nigeria Immigration Service Recruitment
- Be a Nigerian citizen by birth or descent
- Have a National Identity Number
- Be medical fit
- Present certificate of medical fitness from a Government Medical Officer
- Be required to pass drug test
- Be of good character and must not have been convicted of a criminal offence and must not be a member of a secret society/cult
- Be free from any form of financial embarrassment
- Not less than 18 years or more than 35 years of age with exception of Doctors and Pharmacists who must not be more than 35 years.
- Have height not less than 1.65 metres for males and 1.60 metres for females
- Have a fully expanded chest measurement of not less than 0.87 metres;
- Be computer literate and
- Any certificate or qualification not declared and accepted at recruitment centre shall not be accepted after recruitment.
Applicants with any of the Following Physical Challenge need not Apply:
- Sight problem
- Impediment in speech
- Gross malformation of teeth
- Knocked knees
- Bent knees
- K-legs
- Flat foot
- Limb legs
- Bent arms/deformed hands/fracture
- Defective eye sight ( squint eye, crossed eye, one-eyed and total blindness)
- Amputation of any part of physical body
- Hearing impaired (deaf)

- Obesity
- Medical challenges
- Any form of deformity not mentioned and
- Note that due to rigor of the physical exercise in the recruitment process, women with pregnancy need not apply
